For those in Scotland, you may have heard of Speirs Gumley. They are a factoring and rental company with a less than impressive write up. If you had to do a quick Google search of them, you'll see that the reviews are either 1 or 2 stars. The consensus of the work that is carried out by them is by and large the same regardless of the reviews that you read.
One of the biggest complaints is that they're simply not carrying out the work that they're saying they are. This ranges from normal repairs, to ones that have been outstanding for the longest time.
Another issue is the actual standard of the work carried out. There are more than a few reviews whereby people are so disappointed of the work carried out by the gardeners who take care of their grounds. Likewise, for those that are renting, the repairs that are needed aren't being carried out either in a timely manner or to the standard that is required.
Moreover, the actual cost of the work is an issue. This is actually tied to the last point that the standard of the work is so poor, but the cost is consistently high. Why should people give their hard earned money to this company when it is clear that they're actually doing bugger all work that's any good.
Lastly, people are getting extrememly disgruntled and upset about the length of time that they need to wait in order to get a response back from Speirs Gumley. Surely when people are paying a large amount of money for the services that they should hear back in a timely manner?
If you're thinking about changing factor, or renting a property then it is highly recommended that you stay away from Speirs Gumley, they're a rotten company to the core.
Do not go near Speirs Gumley unless you are prepared to be tied to horrendous terms and conditions. They overcharge, they lie, they are rude, and have no interest in you.
